Metal Jacketed Gaskets consists of a metal envelop covering soft filler material. The filler material provides proper sealing and the metal jacket provides strength which is required for a high-temperature high-pressure application. It also protects the core. The metal envelope is generally made from sheets of Low Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass. The filler material used can be Millboard, Graphite, PTFE or Ceramic wool etc. Metal Jacketed Gaskets are particularly suitable for sealing flat surfaces of Heat Exchangers, Engine Head and Exhaust Systems, Gas Pipeline Flanges.
